The site is maintained by a small academic team working across political economy, applied economics, and local evidence synthesis.

The Brexit Cost project was initially developed by Fetzer and Wang (2020) and has since been maintained and extended by a growing team of academics. The current estimates incorporate updated data, extended coverage, and an expanded set of local authority analyses.

Eleonora Alabrese

Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Bath and research affiliate at SAFE and the Warwick QAPEC Centre. Her work focuses on empirical political economy, information, voter behaviour, and the interaction between media and science communication.

Thiemo Fetzer

Professor of Economics at Warwick University and the University of Bonn, recipient of an ERC Starting Grant and the 2022 Leverhulme Prize in Economics, with additional affiliations including the Bank of England, the Grantham Institute, CEPR, and NIESR.
